Through our partnership with Fairplay SW we are hosting a conference on domestic violence and abuse at Kingston Maurward on Friday March 9th

The aim of the conference is to challenge attitudes and behaviors that give rise to sexual violence and perpetrates myths around rape.  There will be a focus on the rights of victims, and ways to access support for those expereincing domestic violence and abuse.

The full programme will be circulated shortly , so make sure you are on our mailing list to receive an invite email : fantasticdorsetwomen@yahoo.co.uk

  1. I am surprised to see the use of the term ‘bitch’ on you website. Its a derogatory term used for a woman often by a man and often in a domestic violence situation. The term refers to a female dog.

    1. Hello Ginny,

We did send round a newsletter about this – there have been lots of ‘stich and bitch ‘ sessions set up – so it is a play on words, and using the term in a positive manner , rather than a negative one/

The sessions, which cover all crafts have been very well attended, and attracted women we hadn’t met before, that had never attanded any WAND events,

  2. Wow , all booked up! how amazing, lets hope the conference really has a positive outcome for those suffering from domestic violence and abuse

  3. A friend of mine is writing a poem on women abuse, hence want to find out what is the statistic for abused women?

  4. I would like to know more about your group, and see if I could join in with things, even help out if there is anything I can do. It sounds like you do some good work for women and also have a bit of fun along the way. Could you please sign me up for your newsletter
