Laura from WAND features in this BBC South news item on 18 March. The item covers some of the local response to the brutal killing of Sarah Everard and the public conversation about women’s safety.

Featured is the #TakeAStand #InTheirShoes people-free protest by Bournemouth photographer Jayne Jackson. Jayne collected and laid out hundreds of pairs shoes to create a visual display to represent women taking a stand against sexual violence and victim-blaming.

Highlighted in the piece is a horrifying statistic: out of 657 recorded rapes in Dorset in 2019 there were only 8 convictions.
