We are delighted to be appointing Marianne Storey as the new Chair for WAND at our upcoming AGM. Marianne will be taking over from Laura at the end of the year. Laura has done a fantastic job as the Chair of WAND over the last year and plans to continue helping out with WAND – as well as moving on to exciting adventures from her new home in Bristol.
Marianne has had an interest in women’s issues for many years growing up with 5 brothers and having worked in leadership roles in the NHS, Social Care and the Charity Sector – influenced, from multiple perspectives, by the impact and challenges of women’s inequality. Marianne comes to us from her most recent role as the Chief Executive of Dorset Mind where she led the charity through huge organisational growth over her 5 year tenure. Marianne is recently retired and now runs her own Coaching and Consulting practice where she works with women, focussing on their unique stories and helping them to tap into their strengths and feminine powers. The skills that she brings to WAND lie in vision, strategy, partnerships and organisational transformation.
New vision and strategy for WAND’s future
This is a very important AGM for WAND at which we will share with you our intentions for our new 5 Year Strategy. The new strategy focuses on how WAND can bring women together to unite over important issues using their collective strengths and striving to reach ALL women of Dorset – particularly those still experiencing extreme inequality and difficulty.
We are thrilled to be sharing this new Strategy with you and we hope that you will join us in sharing it more widely and in recruiting the team that we need to start to deliver it across our County. We are living in times of unprecedented opportunity for women whilst at the same time many women are still experiencing unprecedented challenge. We need your help and we will be sharing our progress with you at regular intervals, following the AGM, so that you can hear about what we’re up to.
Come and join us on the 8th of December at 7pm to hear more about our plans and how you can help.
The AGM is taking place via Zoom – please use this link to register in advance. You will receive a confirmation email with the details required to join us on the evening.
