Current Constitution

WAND operates as a voluntary community group under a constitution.

The executive committee of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are elected by the Annual General Meeting. The committee are supported by a small core group of volunteers to plan and deliver WAND’s programme of activities.

We have a community of over 200 subscribed supporters who receive our e-news, attend events and contribute ideas. We encourage active involvement with WAND, so membership of the core group is flexible and we welcome opportunities to work with members of our community on projects and activities that are important to them.

We are lucky to be supported in our work by our two wonderful Patrons.

New Constitution

In 2022 we will be reviewing our constitution and giving ourselves a facelift. Our new strategy is ambitious, and we need to be fit for purpose for many years to come. It is likely that we will level-up to becoming a form of Social Enterprise organisation in order that we can grow, do more, reach more people and honour the women of Dorset in the best ways possible.

A new consitution will mean new roles.

Soon we will be recruiting to exciting new roles within our new organisation such as Directors and Ambassadors as well as committee members and specific operational roles. See a brief description of these roles here.

We need our organisation to be diverse and inclusive so that we are upholding our values from the very core of what we do. So, we are particularly interested in hearing from you if your heritage or background is of a minority nature.

So if you are from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) community, are LGBTQI+ , have a disability or Long Term Condition, live with a mental health condition, have experienced gender-based violence or come from (or work with) a minority community of Dorset where women experience specific challenges, then please send us an email at WANDorset@gmail.com or use the Contact Form to get in touch.
