The core group meet regularly to decide what activities and projects WAND should focus on and organise our events. We are a friendly and informal group of women and always welcome new members. If you are interested in joining the core group, please get in touch.
Consider a more formal role
As we look at our constitution and level-up for the future we will need people to join us in formal roles as Directors and Ambassadors. Here is some brief information. More details will follow as we make progress with this work.
- Director: As a Director of the new constitution you will be part of the formal governance of the organisation – setting direction, holding the organisation to account, ensuring the values are upheld and monitoring progress against our aims and targets. It is essential that the new Directors are a diverse group of people. So we are particularly interested in appointing people from minority backgrounds or who have direct experience of our priority focus areas or discrimination. You must align with our values, be able to see our work from a broad and strategic perspective and bring experience or skills that benefit the entire work programme albeit that you, personally, may have a specific area of interest.
- Ambassador: As an Ambassador you will help us to achieve our aims with your existing networks, visibility, experience, background, skills or ambitions. You will likely have a specific area of interest which has synergy with our work. You must align with our values and be able to promote our aims and work programmes objectively, without prejudice or discrimination and work within our governance arrangements particularly as they relate to Safeguarding, Equality and Data Protection.
