WAND AGM 2017

The WAND AGM for 2017 is nearly here and this year we are excited to welcome Louise Johnson who will give us ‘An Introduction to Burlesque’ including a bit of history and a demo with audience participation!

The meeting is taking place in Borough Gardens House in Dorchester on Wednesday 21 June from 6pm – 7.30pm. The whole event is free to attend.

Following a short report from the organisation detailing the work they have done over the previous year to host events such as Dorset Women’s Day and Reclaim the Night plus the support they have offered to partner organisations such as the Women’s’ Refuge and the Shores (Sexual Abuse Referral Centre) in Bournemouth, attenders will be offered a FREE delicious cream tea.

WAND Chair said : “Our AGM is a great opportunity to come along and find out about WAND if you’re not sure what we do. It’s also a great place to meet up with friends, have a delicious cream tea and this year learn about Burlesque (and have a go!) – and all for free! We’re always looking for new volunteers to join the Core Group or to help with our events. We hope you’ll join us.”

WAND AGM 2016 – “Keep Young and Beautiful”

This year we are excited to welcome Trisha Lewis to our AGM who will be giving us important advice from a 1950 women!

The AGM is on Wednesday 13 July from 6pm to 7.30 at the Borough Garden’s House, West Walks Dorchester, DT1 1RE.

Come along for a delicious cream tea, hear about what WAND has been up to over the last year and join us for some important advice from an earlier era.

TRISHA LEWIS: “KEEP YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL”

A very amusing look at the health and beauty and relationship advice for women during the 1950s! Trisha (as 1950s woman) shares advice from REAL books and magazines – advice that she is going to pass on to her daughter who is having… um…. ‘marriage difficulties’.

WAND invites you to our AGM for 2015 which is being held on Wednesday 8 July from 6pm at the Borough Gardens House in Dorchester.

As well as the usual AGM business and a delicious cream tea, we are excited to welcome Fiona Heckels who will be giving a talk (and demo) entitled “Lovely for Ladies, Garden Herbs for Wellness and Nurture”.

Fiona is a local herbalist with many years experience and training who runs a business with her friend Karen called Sensory Solutions. Fiona believes that our local environment contains all we need for a medicinal cabinet and this talk will introduce you to local herbs and plants that you can use to improve your health and well being.
