WAND’s committee warmly invites you to attend WAND’s next public meeting on Wednesday 20th January at 7pm, via Zoom. We will give you an update on how our plans for 2021 have developed since our AGM in November.
As coronavirus unfortunately continues to impact social opportunities for all of us, we wanted to provide ways for women to meet safely with one another throughout 2021. We are planning on doing this through online book clubs and listening circles. At our upcoming public meeting, we will give you more information about how we are planning on running the book clubs and listening circles, and what we hope to achieve via these.
Starting in February, our first book club meeting on 17th February will be Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay. More details to follow, but save the date!
Chosen charity
WAND as an organisation has three key aims – to be social, serious and supportive (you can find out more information about our aims on our website here). To further meet these aims, we will be asking that people attending our online events this year make a small, voluntary donation in support of our chosen charity, the Shine Project. This charity does some marvellous work with teen girls in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area – we will have Anne Clarkson from the Shine Project joining us for our public meeting to give a short presentation about what they do.
