Update

Since our last Newsletter we have been working on the development of the Dorset Women’s Charter and our Dorset Women’s Health Series and Symposium. We’ve learned a lot and in this Newsletter we share some of our learning with you.

Dorset Women’s Charter

In September we bought together 50 inspirational women leaders to begin the process of co-designing a Dorset Women’s Charter. To find out more about why we are doing this, take a look at the presentation we prepared for the event. You can find it on our website here.

We plan to circulate a first draft of the Charter for consultation in mid-December and to launch a working draft in January 2023 in order to get going with action as soon as possible.

If you’d like to be involved, email us at wandorset@gmail.com

Women’s Health

We have launched a series of Dorset Women’s Health Events starting with an online seminar on the subject of Menopause: The Current Hot Topic.  We have a fantastic line up of speakers, all local experts who will give a holistic view of menopause; HRT, physical activity, nutrition, managing at work and more. Find out more here. Tickets £5

Look for more workshops and seminars coming in the next few months including our January takeover on all things relating to fertility, pregnancy and the post-natal period.

Our women’s health series will culminate at the Dorset Women’s Health Symposium on 9th March 2023. Take advantage of early bird ticket price of only £17.50 until 1st January. (Regular ticket prices £22.50)

#WANDThreeQuestions

We continue to receive responses to our #WANDThreeQuestions campaign. We are asking women about the important issues they want to see change and the superpowers they use every day to manage busy lives and tackle inequality.

Have you given us your answers yet? Complete the questions here.

We are beginning to see some emerging themes from what women are telling us and these are informing what we are doing. Highlights include Women’s Health, Pay Inequality and Opportunities for Women’s Events.

WAND Connect Events

We continue to bring together events across Dorset designed exclusively for Women on our website and to share them across our Social Media Platforms.

If you are running an event, know someone who is, or have some ideas that we can help with, please let us know at wandorset@gmail.com .  We love hearing from you and can’t wait to expand the opportunities available to enable women to connect at these events.

Volunteer Opportunities

We always have exciting volunteer opportunities so let us know if you have a few hours to spare to help us to deliver our new strategy
