Why should I attend?
There is currently a lack of awareness and support in the workplace with respect to the menopause. This has resulted in a string of recent case law decisions in relation to the protection of menopausal employees. This effects up to 50% of the workforce at some point. As a result, employers need to ensure that all people in management positions are well informed on the menopause.
What will I learn?
The first part of the session is dedicated to menopause awareness. We look at matters such as when women can be affected, common symptoms of the menopause and real life examples to illustrate the significant adverse effects the menopause can have on a woman’s physical and mental wellbeing.
The second part focuses on menopause and the workplace. We consider employer legal obligations, discrimination and how managers and HR can support staff who may be going through the menopause. We again look a real life examples to demonstrate how it impacts employees in the workplace.
